Non-Mivec brake upgrade to Mivec disks and calipers

Postby CJ » Fri Feb 13, 2009 8:33 pm

Lets get this out of the way - in this thread, Mivec refers to a GPX or GPvR - not a 'Mivec'.

Can someone please remind me if theres any issue with bolting on Mivec disks and calipers onto non-Mivec hubs (GS, GR, GX)? Are there any considerations in relation to ABS? Its a while since I looked into this, a memory refresh would be appreciated.

i did the upgrade on my GR a good while ago.
there was only the calipers /disks/ pads that i've changed . same hoses and didn't touch the hub .

straight fit , no problem .
of course this is just the FRONT ONLY conversion as the back disks/pads are the same on all models .

not sure about ABS though

some info here ->

No bits yet, if I decide to do the job, I'll be on the lookout.

Abs sensor is fitted to the stub axle so you will have no problems.
