The paintwork on the TT is looking a bit dull and i've picked up a lot of light scratches and swirl marks so I've booked the TT in for a paint correction with www.detailer.ie - recommended on the bmw-driver.net forum.

Hopefully the car will look spanking new after which should help resale when the time comes....

Andy, I got your email - I'll reproduce d below for all to see:

Hi Ciaran,

Just wanted to see if you would advise the lads on FTO-Ireland of special offers available to them on Detailer.ie?

For those of that have forked out a few quid on your wheels, we have the Wheel Care Kit. This has everything needed to get your wheels looking as good as new. Just apply the Spray & Rise (32oz bottle), leave it sit on the wheels for a minute or two, then rinse off using a power washer or hose. Apply the Wheel Sealant (8oz Paste) to protect the wheels. Lastly, spray on some Bold N Bright (16oz bottle) to get the tyres back to black and finish the wheel off.

Normally €45, only €40 with the discount code ftowheel.

If you want to have a go at restoring the paint on your FTO, our Paint Restore Kit has everything you will need. Clay, Lubricant, Swirl/Defect Remover, Sealant and Wax. This should have your paint looking as vibrant and sharp as new. We've also thrown in a deluxe microfiber towel & applicator.

Normally €80, only €70 with the discount code ftorestore.

If your paint is in good nick, and you want to keep it that way, we have put together a Deluxe Washing Kit. The APC will take care of moulded on dirt and arches. The Super Slick and Suds will wash the paint without stripping previous wax. Bug Squash will eliminate any insect remains and tar. We've thrown in a Waffle Weave Drying Towel also, so you wont have to worry about water spots.

Normally €55, only €50 with the discount code ftowash.

I can set up a discount code for FTO-Ireland members, that do not wish to buy any kits too if you would like.

All the best,
Andy

I see you use the Poorboys range, I'm a big fan of it myself. Do you supply out of interest?

I'm keen to get the black paint work back to it's best - I've a bunch of scratches just like the BM above so if mine turns out like this I'll be a very happy man :) Ar worst it should help any potential resale - at best it might make me keep the car a bit longer.......

I've done a couple of Audi's lately. Both 98 A3's .. the paint on them is really 'hard' and durable. Takes a bit longer then other marques to correct but always get a great shine from them. If looked after properly (i'll go through that with you when the magic is done) it will last a long time too.

I never did get this done - could never find the time to leave the car in so instead I'm going to follow CJs lead and get a polisher. Have my name down for a UDM from Andy - will probably also get a few other bits from him in the process. I think it can be set for rotary and orbital but that's to be confirmed. All I need now is to get a decent how-to so I don't do any damage ;)

The portfolio on that site is absolutely stunning. Considering leaving the car in for a full detail sometime soon. expensive enough, but the time and quality that goes into it should set your car up for the year easily if you keep it clean after the detail.

Grand if you're in Dublin otherwise 2 days is heartbreaking.
