Really cheap tyres here, has anyone here ever used them?

Do you think it would be difficult to get someone to fit them?

I've used them a few times - should be easy enough to get someone to fit them but factor in the cost (approx e10 a corner) - where you based?

I'm in Dublin, theres a guy in Swords listed on the website, with a quote of 10 euro per tyre.
What brand did you put on your FTO?

I really would not put any cheap brand of tyre on any car let alone an FTO. You've bought a performance car - putting porcelain tyres on is defeating the purpose of having an FTO in the first place.
What brands have you been quoted for? What size tyre are you looking for - Is it the standard 16's?

I have Bridgestone S03's on at the moment - have also used F1 eagles and Pirelli P Zero's - all very good tyres.

There are some very good middle of the road brands as well but you will still pay around 70-80Euro per tyre - the extra 20Euro per tyre can be well worth spending to get a set of F1 Eagles under the car.

Toyo Proxes T1-S - a super tyre at a reasonable price. Amazing grip in the wet but I suspect they will wear fast. I wouldn't know as I don't really drive that hard.... I'm planning on getting some Goodyear Eagle F1's or Toyo's for my gti sometime soon....

Hi,
I've been looking around at tyres and have gone to the usual irish rip off merchants and been gettin quotes of €100 for no brand name crap and €140 upwards for brands that I've heard of before. I took a look at the eiretyres.com site and have narrowed it down to two options that look like good value, one is a cheapo one and the second is a much better tyre but a lot more expensive.
The cheap tyre is a Nankang NS-2 at €60 per wheel

The other tyre is a Goodyear Eagle Ventura at €120 per wheel
http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/reifenbest ... 32&dsco=24
I've heard good things about the good year eagle ventura supposedly espesially good in the wet. But I am tempted by the Nankang when seeing it there at half the price. Anyone heard anything about it? Any reports I've read on the web seem to indicate that it very good value for money.
Cheers,
Paul

If you're going to spend money on a performance car (like an FTO) don't bother with crappy cheap tyres. Remember the tyres are the ONLY contact you have with the road and can have a HUGE effect on the handling and safety for the car. If I were you I'd go with the Goodyears.

Bridgestone S03's are OEM on pre 04 Honda S2000s. Great tyre. I have used Eagle F1's and can defo recommend those. At the moment I am running Bridgestone RE050 which are the best I have had yet....expensive but great
