Please help - engine water damage

Postby trevor » Sat Jul 07, 2007 6:30 pm

My car got water into the engine during the recent floods and now the engine wont turn over. I have taken the sparkplugs out and tried to force the water out but it still wont turn over, it appears to be siezed. Does anyone have any suggestions or if you think I need a new engine is there anywhere in Northern or southern Ireland I can get one.

hi, chances are you will have engine lock and therefore need a new engine

we do them over in the Uk but best to try and find one over there as the freight would be expensive

Jesus trevor - how deep was that water??!

I hope you get it sorted - sadly I don't know anybody up near belfast - Alloywheelsinternational (Terry) might be able to help you out though, he's near you and as far as I know he still drives his fto.

Don't think your going to find an Engine too easily up this way fella. As you know not many FTO's up this way. Try Steelroe he might be the person to ask, cheaper to get it sent up from the south.
Lots to think about, nothing to worry about!

Do the Mitsi Specialists of N.I. still exist? They used to be based in Newry, See the Services page for contact info.
