And I didn't think Carlsberg did car ads!
Brilliant, but I'd love to see the outtakes...

Aside from the crap cars - thats some seriously good driving skills.
They must have wrecked a load of them making the Ad though plus there had to be quite a few chassis mods along the way.

This presently overly PC age will ensure that an Ad like this will never see the light of day again. Mores the pity.

Come on now, Geminis were deadly yokes in an era where you had to choose between a Bluebird or a Cherry

In an era where you had the choice between a Bluebird or a Cherry, I reckon the Gemini wasn't all that bad of a car. I kinda liked 'em in 1986 (but I also liked Wham bars - go figure).

I remember quite a few of these diesel Geminis wandering the roads of Ireland back in the 80's alright - but I really didn't like them much at the time. There were still much better similarly priced cars on the road like the Peugeot 309, Citroen BX, Mitsubishi Colt etc and a few quid more would put you in a base Carina II, Sierra, Golf, Mazda 626 etc. They actually weren't particularly good value in Ireland at the time - diesel was the new buzz word but you paid a considerable premium for a diesel engine - though I guess it was probably the cheapest diesel on the market at the time untill you take into account the terrible depreciation these yokes suffered. Still I suppose there was much much worse that you could buy new at the time - the FSO and the Lada Riva particularly stick out in my mind - now they were really dreadful cars!
