problems with ebay

Postby Daz » Thu Oct 18, 2007 4:16 am

Anyone ever have issues when buying stuff of ebay,

My car is going thru a revamp at the mo so i decided it was time to replace the lights in the facelift bumper, they were cracked and water got in(bloody stone chips  ). Had foglights in both with angel eyes one set converted to indicators. Managed to get inner sets easy enough (bought 2 as it took ages first time around over 2 years ago) then i saw another foglight but no size asked for the diameter of lense to see if they fit took awhile to get reply but when he did i got the size i thought i needed, but i was skeptical as he took so long to reply so i bought one set instead of 2 was it right..... Nope he measured the diameter of the lense alright minus the angel eyes WHY?????

Ends up they are exactly the same as the ones i had bought so i now have 3 sets to fit the inner hole. Wana know the worst part, due to all this messing about i spotted some other type of angel eyes lights that were slightly bigger again but i bought two sets of these and got them fitted today had to modifiy the bumper to get them to fit but WOW they look awesome espically with the led indicators fitted :) ok thats not the worst part the worst part is a mate found me the outer lights Exactly like i used to have the ones you clip angel eyes onto. and got me a set so now i have my new lights fitted i've now got 3 inner and one outer set  ah well at least i'll have them if anyone needs them, if they are thinking of doing a facelift upgrade.

You need to be VERY specific with some sellers - can be tricky sometimes.

I thought i was, The question i asked was something like this-------> "Hi, i'm looking at this item but there is no dimensions give could you please give me the outer diameter of the body/housing and the diameter of the lense."

So i'm lost as to why it was measured wrong, Haven't left feedback for him as i can't give a positive one and i can't really give a negative one as it could just be a genunine mistake ah well i live and learn.

Have none as yet, as i'm practally working 7 days a week(under redundency notice so scraping as much overtime i can get to keep me going when i'm let go) i haven't had time to go thru all my stuff in storage and dig my camera out but as soon as i do(need pic's of exhaust and interiour) i'll take some and post them up, thing is they are not quite round sort or a slight eclipse shape(which goes well with the shape of the bumper and the spaces for them to fit in) but with both the inner and outer looking the same it looks great 8)
