tappet noise

hey guys, a year after a had to sell my FTO for parts, im back in the hunt for another. Ive looked at a few but sadly they seem to have been quite badly abused! Despite my limited funding Im craving another FTO, so ideally looking for a clean one which isn't to expensive (aren't we all!).

I'm looking at one at the minute which has tappet noise on start-up. I know theres tons of stuff on here about cleaning tappets, tappet adjustment etc.. but just wondering can anyone tell me apart from the noise on start up, are there any other problems that noisy tappets are a symptom of or can lead to?

Also if anyones selling an FTO for not too much, let me know!
