I need help to install a recaro seats in FTO

Postby LSpec » Sun Mar 08, 2009 3:55 pm

Recently I bought a recaro seats from a Evo IV (brackets and sliders included), but I dont know how to install them with the sliders.. :(

I compared the sliders from both seats, but I can not fit them in the other seat

anyone had done that? any picture? :?:

I reckon you've 2 options:

1. Source a set of Recaro rails to suit the FTO.
2. Have custom brackets made up to allow fitment of the EVO rails into the FTO.

DragonHeart has Recaros in his FTO, and MyFeckin FTO put in aftermarket seats in his FTO (now Topcat's motor), they might have some ideas for you.

I just bought some universal sub frames for my seats and my mechanic got busy with the welder - ended up with a hybrid of the orig frames and aftermarket.

They might be difficult so source, keep an eye on ebay. I reckon you've a good chance of picking up a set on Yahoo Auctions in Japan, problem is its in Japanese. See here for more info:

Pics of my Recaros and rails, the rails are for the FTO, as seen by the serial number on the passenger seat rail, both DE2A and DE3A versions;

Hope that helps a bit.
As to where to find these I reckon Japan is one of the few places you'll get them, wouldnt see them being many other places. I do know that a lot of Evo parts can be modified to fit the FTO, like a lambo door kit, so maybe the FTO rails are modified Evo rails just modified by Recaro themselves.
