HELP ME "alternator"

HI EVERYONE
im in need of sum help,alternator has been whinging on me for the the past couple of weeks and finally it gave up on saturday in a small village called gurteen in roscommon fecking disaster :(
ne ways got me battery charged in boyle tat weekend and monday morning started 2 make the trip back 2 mullingar minus radio fan and any other eletrics..phew i made it :)
and in2 work a bit late :/
but neways logged in work and found the instruction for taking it out
great instructions but i managed too get it out witout draining the gearbox oil or taking the drive shaft out just jack up and down the engine off the mountings 2 get the space 2 take it out ;-)
so yesterday i got a lad 2 look at it 4me and 2day he got back 2 me and said it was fried tat it must have gota power surget
said im does any other model of mitsi have the same alternator as mine (MD 317515 A3TA1491)
(12V 80A 5331)

AND HE TOLD ME NOWAY
IS THIS TRUE??
said he could get a reconditioned 1 for 265euro or a new 1 for 500euro

ne1 any idea or help for me, please/

was just wondering can u contribute 2 tis site any time of the year or is it just when the annual levy comes up..think its a great help and would be lost witout ;))

When I input that P/N into CAPS, it says its a 75W alternator. Anyway, its very likely that the rectifier (AKA diode pack) needs replacing, assuming you have the alternator out of the car and you're handy enough, you should be able to fit it yourself. Otherwise, a decent autoelectrician can do the job for you for 200 euro or less.

yeah cj
have the alternator here beside and was talking to ur man again,he said it was the diode pack tats gone (doesnt seem 2 pushed in wanting 2 fix it)
u can see them cracked and missing when u look in from the side.
where could i pick one of these up cj?

Thats because there no money in it!

The diode pack p/n is MD619002, I'd start with calling your local Mitsi dealer, you should be able to pick one up cheap enough.
