Does anyone know of any place breaking FTOs at the moment ?

Also, what's with the stars that have appeared under everyone's name on posts ? Also, how do I get out of "1st Gear" - how many posts do I need to submit ?

Off the top of my head I dunno but it's got to be more than 16 :) Check the memeberlist for the number of posts per person and you can get a good idea of how many posts equal each level.

No, nothing broken.
Still on the lookout for a padded centre armrest cover.
Living in hope.

you mean one of the cloth ones? I had one in the GS - a total female dog to keep clean! I much prefer the one in my GR - much easier to keep clean and new looking - altough I wish I had the door cards from the GS (no cloth) :)

Not sure what you mean.
I think the one I have in mind sits on top of the plastic armrest and can come with or without cupholders.
I first saw it in one of the FTO accessory sheets that one of the UK guys has on his website. Tried to get Coordsport in norn iron to order on for me but they never got back to me.

yea that's the one I had on my old GS - pain in the ass to keep clean - picks up dust like you would not believe and then needs a good scrub with an interior cleaner to get the grubbines out.........

Surely its got to be more comfortable than resting your left elbow
on the bare plastic ? Was it foam/sponge-filled and covered with the same material as the rest of the interior ?

Rorys breaking an FTO atm, doubt you'll pick up a padded armrest off him though. I never noticed any problem with resting the auld elbow on a bit of plastic, personal preference I suppose.

The stars are common forum additions that give you a graphical representation of how high your rank is in terms of the number of posts a user has submitted, they come in bronze, silver and gold. You'll just have to get the finger out Eamo! Welcome to 'Unleaded by the way ;)

Eamon, don'y know if you're still after a padded armrest after all this time but I noticed on the SG FTOOC forum that Giles @ Japco currently has one for sale.

Fitz, Rory is based in Kerry, email him @ steelroe@eircom.net to see if he has a GR backbox. It sounds like you've an aftermarket exhaust, any idea what it is? I'm sure someone would be interested in taking it off your hands.

As regards the ATF, get yourself 7L of Dextron III fluid, you may have to ring around a few factors to find one that stocks it. Make sure you change the ATF filter at the same time, its the same one that fits the Galant GLS.
