I trying to split my new broken manual gearbox Has anyone in the club done this before. I have a taken out the bolts that hold the gearbox and the bell-housing together and I've split the box about 6mm the whole way around but now its getting very tight. There are a few bolts at the back of the box that I haven't released. I believe these are to hold the gear selectors in place. Does anyone know if I have to take these out? When the gearbox is split are all the gear mechanisms bound to the back of the bell housing or to the back of the gearbox?
