Very interesting, chassis strenghtening will be key to the success of this project.

There was a completed convertible some years back in Barbados - can't seem to find any pics though.

Anyway - it should look like this :

| Silver 09 Audi A5 | 2.0 TDI quattro S-Line Special Edition |
| Blue 04 Audi A4 Avant | 1.9 TDI S-Line | (wifemobile)

I lot of work but it should be worth it, sprayed yellow with black leather interior. :smt023

You would not get many pies in it though

I wish him the best of luck with that project cause he's gonna need it. I reckon that even with a couple of hundred kgs of strengthening there will still be a huge amount of scuttle shake - for a start the rear seats will HAVE to go to be replaced by braces - plus he'll need to run some more braces down the sills and across the front - loosing the roof though is gonna massively affect structural rigidity and will be lethal in a crash.

The FTO was never designed to be a convertible - Photoshops are all very well but I bet it will look very odd with the roof up in which state it will have to spend 98% of its time.

That guy must have his pants specially tailored to accomodate his extra large "cohones".

Fair play to him for having a go - I really hope he manages to do something spectacular - imagine showing that car to the local mitsi rep..

It's a far cry from the current open top colt thats for sure.

Hopefully he will not put that veilside front (as indicated in the sketch) on the car, as it would turn what could be a graceful looking sleek cabriolet into a snow plough lookalike. NOI but that veilside front does the car no favours whatsoever.

I tend to agree with you on this one Mustang - far better looking options available out there.
