Clicks but wont start?

Morning Folks.

1995 GPX

Sometimes when shes hot she wont restart, as in i put in the key and turn it i hear a faint click then nothing. Bugger! Turn it again still the same... Keep turning then i hear the faint click then a louder one then the starter kicks in and everythings good.

This only happens when the engine is warm and is pretty random, no pattern so far.

Anybody come accross this before?

Had the same problem a few years ago, it was down to a faulty relay in the immobilisor unit, only treal way to determine if you've the same problem is to disable the alarm for a period of time which probably isn't practial for obvious reasons...

I had this in my old *cough* Citroen

It was the actual switch on the steering column had worn and didn't always make the connection.

Never heard of it on an FTO though

Yeah it if happened first thing in the morning aswell i would think the aul clifford could be acting up but its only when the car is warm. Think ill just say it to paul byrne next time im down there.
