Petrol Prices...??!!??

Postby gfalls » Wed Oct 15, 2008 6:22 pm

My local garage yesterday 119.9c. An extra 8c (according to the budget) as of 12 midnight . Went past again today.....lo and behold 115.9c a litre. Does anybody know what's going on? :smt105
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

price of crude oil going down and government tax increasing on the same day. sounds like a good enough price.

aye I filled up to the tune of 75e last night - only to pass the petrol station this morning and not that I could have saved about 2.50e or something..

Saw 1.22 a litre in Statoil this morning, thought it was going to be much higher. Hopefully they'll creep down another bit!

Didn't know that Statoil still existed in Ireland ?

Prices seem to be around the 19.9 still in these parts - obviously the oil price reduction has also kicked in big time.

Haven't verified this yet lads, but i heard the price in individual petrol stations goes up when the next load of fuel comes in, so the increase may have happened in a few stations already, but not in all.
Its true the overall price of oil has dropped, but it takes some time to filter down to the irish petrol stations (not the case when prices go up, I wonder why), but I don't think enough to offset the 8c/l increase.

oil has gone from a high of 147dollars per barrel 2 or 3 months ago to a YEAR low of 70dollars now. halfed in price in 3 or 4 months basically.
yet the pump price has only really lost 10 or 15cent... Realistically if petrol was 1.30ish when oil was at an all time high, it should be back to 1.00euro now (including the 8cent duty increase)
we are being ripped...

I see gordon brown told UK petrol retailers yesterday to pass on the drop in oil prices at the pumps..... no such thing here.
