They didn't want the radio oh no they wanted the car, worst thing is though I don't even know when?

I ALWAY'S USE THE CENTRAL LOCKING ALWAY'S, but yesterday I was out shopping and came back to the car "buzz" Nothing? The passenger door opened fine but not the driver door? Put in the key to twist it open, the key wouldn't budge, I bend down to take a closer look, the whole lock is drove in! The barrel is totally distroyed! :x Thiefing B*&TER'S must have beening using a screw driver and a hammer!!! The car has an alarm and an imoblizer? So they were'nt getting far! Cheeky little F**KERS!

they were obviously idiots if they couldn't break in. small consolation I know, but there's no way they'd have taken the car if they can't do the easy bit.

luckily the lock isn't too difficult to change.

Something about this makes me think of Keiths worry about parking there...
Thats crazy alright though, I presume it was daylight as well? Why didnt, or even did, the alarm go off?

I park in Limerick in various car parks every day of the week and am yet to have a problem. On the other hand I've had several attempts to have my car or contents stolen in the few years I worked in Dublin. There are scumbags in every city.

Marie- Where were you parked?

Well I've parked my car in Moyross and nothing has happened it?

I can't be sure it happened the day I noticed it, but on that particular day I was shopping out by the ballysimon road, and business park's.
Out by Sound Store ect...

Andrew managed to get the barrel out and repair it, but you can be sure I'm going to use the immobiliser from now on! I can't understand why they didn't just break the window though?

That is fairly f'n annoying alright, but i suppose you still have it.
Not sure its confined to Limerick though. I've never had a probem here (oh yeah, bar some ignorant *(insert 4-letter profanity) who opened their car door against mine and left a nice dint last week!!! ), but I have had a car nicked in Dublin!

Sorry for your troubles Marie.

Quick tip guys, if you're going to be away from the car ( ie out of sight for more than 5/10mins ) bang the steering lock on, its not going to stop a determined thief but will slow down an opportunist.

Its a habit i got into, and something i think a lot of people forget about
( remote central locking to blame here )
i do it on every car i drive now regardless of wether car is fitted with alarm, immob, viscious dog :D

same as that, I feel much happier parking the car with the steering lock on. if you point the steering lock to the right (towards the pillar) it makes it pretty impossible for them to use at as lever to break the car's factory steering lock.
