The Grunts in the final of Deis Roc!

Postby kevinod » Sun May 28, 2006 12:30 am

All,

The Grunts have made it to the final of Deis Roc!! :D :D :D A *HUGE* thanks to everyone who has voted for us, we wouldn't have made it without your support!

The final is on Monday night (29th - today for most people reading this), with the 6 bands that got through each playing one song. They have insisted on us playing the same Irish song as we did for the first programme, but we've worked on several aspects of the song, so hopefully you'll agree that it's improved.

Deis Roc will be on from 10pm for 45 minutes, after which there will be a half hour break, and it'll come back on at 11:15 when the overall winner will be announced. THIS MEANS THERE WILL ONLY BE 30 MINS TO VOTE - 10:45pm to 11:15pm!!

Hector gives us his own inimitable viewpoint and understanding of the culture and people of the East as he travels through Asia. He visits places such as Bangkok and Beijing along the way.

The winner of the competition is finally revealed.

We need support more than ever to push for the win! The overall winners go to Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennesse (Elvisland!), and do a gig out there, a once in a lifetime opportunity to try to play in front of the promoters and companies that will be there for it.

Voting details have yet to be announced, but it is likely to be the same again - text "grunts" to 53500 (republic) or 83222 (NI/UK). For this show all votes go into a draw for 2 tickets to the HIFI festival in Mullingar.

The support and feedback we've got so far has been absolutely fantastic, we just need you to support us for one more night!

Kev.

Greetings from Belfast! Thanks guys... we got the highest number of votes in all the heats, but the other bands have had weeks to promote being in the final, and we were only told late Friday night so its going to be tough!

We need everyone we can get to vote as many times as they can in the half hour. It'll be opening about 10:40 and going on until 11:15 when the winning band will play the toon again live.

Had luck Kev, as you say, if you had more time to canvess then the result might have been different. If its any consolation, at least the winners were Corkies ;)

Thanks! :)

Ya, we were really short on time to promote, and it wasn't enough in the end but it was brilliant craic, we really enjoyed it.

Another sincere thanks for the support & votes, the feedback and messages we've got over the few days have been absolutely fantastic. Many beer tokens due!!
