Alarm/immobilizer in Cork

Postby kevinod » Wed Apr 14, 2010 3:54 pm

Hi all,

have a Meta immobilizer on top of the alarm, got them fitted when I got the car first. You need to have the fob in a certain place and do a certain thing. There's vague for ya!

Having some problems with the immobilizer lately though, sometimes works fine, other times takes a while and several tries (sitting in the car like a tool for about 10 mins this morning). Both fobs I have for it rattle now, which can't be a good sign. Tried to get the first one replaced when it started playing up but the crew I got it fitted with first day weren't able to program another one for it.

Thinking about it, might be as well just to take it out and leave it with the alarm which I think has an immobilizer of its own anyway, but kinda like the way people can't start my car even if they have the key without knowing what to do.

Who's good around Cork for alarms these days? or would I have to go back to the guys who originally installed this one to get it out anyway?

Kev.

Try o' Lear alarms in Pouladuff (021 4315899). They are an agent for Meta.
They sorted me out when the misses lost the alarm fob.

Aren't Clifford and Cobra different brands?

Thanks guys, will look them up tomorrow methinks! Meta agent is interesting, if he could program some new fobs for the immobilizer I'd be sorted. Not walking just yet but waiting for the day at this stage!

Cobra or Corbra?

Clifford - http://www.clifford.com/

Cobra - http://www.cobravehiclesecurity.co.uk/

2 different leading alarm manufacturers, I'd be surprised if one used the name of the other in their branding.

It's a Sounds Secure sticker, who are agents for both Cobra and Clifford it seems.
