i got the beast sericed recently and the mechanic informed that she needed front drop links and a new flexy pipe for the exhaust.
the drop links are no problem as i have seen them on camskill, however i need some advice on getting the flexypipe,like where would i look for one and what should i expect to pay. car is starting to get a bit noisy now

I would try on ebay.co.uk if you`re too lazy to look in some local car parts shops cost is about 20€ but there is a lot of different sizes... I dont know which one is good for FTO. I`d say it`s about 250mm long but I`ve no idea what diameter should be... 55mm?

If anyone know.. because I have the same problem

UUh I could do with some flexipipe as well - I wasn't aware it was possible to simply replace the flexi section thought it was all part of the downpipe?

Very much doubt it would be worth trying to replace the flexi section - the labour needed to fix it would likely be as expensive as buying a new downpipe. Of course you could try wrapping it as a cheap fix - wouldn't try that myself and it will be a temporary measure.

Just bite the bullet and buy a blueflame or mongoose downpipe - RiceRocket on here will be able to give you a good price.

Would I not be as well off getting the RPW headers and pipe? I mean if I'm going to spend that amount on a down pipe but leave the headers as a bottle neck it doesn't make much sense??

did anyone price the best route for this job.
i want the job to be a good one so i dont mind getting the pipe if i have to

Kona - I'd say it would be worth asking in a Kwik Fit or Fast fit or some of these guys, they'll be able to tell you very quickly if its doable and how much it would be.

Wrt to just getting a bf or mongoose downpipe, got a mongoose dp myself, and noticed the difference straight away. Revved easier and got more torque (haven't put it on rolling road before or after but it felt like I had more anyway), so all in all I was happy with it.

The stock downpipes are poorly designed from a flow point of view. The angle the pipes from each side of the V meet isn't good, whereas the BF or Mongoose ones have the angles much better.

Wrt the RPW headers, they'd prob be better again, but you'd pay a fair bit for them I reckon.

The latest version BlueFlame downpipe has an even better flow than the Mongoose.

BTW Muad - The Headers (or Manifold) flow on the FTO is not all that bad - the larger restriction on the FTO is with the downpipe.

Okidoki - I might save myself a few pennies so and go for a mong or blueflame instead.

Leaves more money for other stuff..
