After a
    New Rear bumper
    New Rear apron
    Completely re fibered front bumper,
    Rust removed on wing pannel
    Rear bumper resprayied
    Rear quater pannel's resprayied
    Front bumper resprayied
    Front bumper resprayied
    Centre lip resprayied
    Full beam HID's


some of ye might know shes been gone for over a week now,
and shes due back on Thursday,

Rory knows iv had a hickup along the way needed new brackets but all sorted now.

Cant wait to get her back. Last step before i start fitting the Turbo

Full beam HIDs? how long do you expect them to last?

I got Kenwood Beams there built to be used as Full Beam hid's tested with over 10,000 Repeated 1 minute open circut operations,

They are said to be the best of the best.

i know iv spent the last month nearly 2 servicing the car,
from new gaskets- heater matrix- clutch with upgraded and new downpipes and manifolds to fit as soon as i get her back out of the body shop

and its still going that way. wana do PMAC proud i was chatting to hima fter i bought the car and he said the 1 thing he would have loved to do is turbo the car

The car is off the road from monday so iv to get onto them after I do the build, the insurance for an evo 6 is only another 50 quid more so hope not

Talk to the insurance people BEFORE you do the turbo build. There's no use having a turbo charged FTO sitting on your driveway if you can't drive it!!

They might want to see the engineers report before they even quote you...

I was trying to see what an MR2 Mk1.5 (MK1 with a tubby engine) would be like insurance wise and they said they'd have to get the engineers all clear first before they'd even consider it.

So essentially I'd have to do all the work and then possibly face a prohibitively expensive premium on top of that... no thanks.

Of course you're just turbocharging it as opposed to sticking in a completely new engine so might be different.

I know its a lot of work but this really seems to be dragging on for you. When do you expect to have the car on the road with turbo working? I admire your patience, not to mention your balls for doing it!

I think dan is moving pretty fast - its a pretty big project...and once its in theres bound to be a degree of fettling and fine adjusting that needs to be done..

dan - did you get her back from paint yet?

no shes ready now just needs to be picked up, today, Feels liek "Pimp my Ride" but with no chav mods :lol:

I could have slapped on the turbo in a week but id blow the engine by the end of the month if i was lucky to get it that far.

Its not just a case of bolt it on and woo the cars faster.

I want it to be reliable too.
iv spent the last month servicing it and making sure its running right.

Also i said that I wanted to get everythign else sorted with the car before i turbo it EG. bodywork and so on.

Dont think servicing alone is going to protect your engine. reinforced inners is the way to go before it goes pop.
When you say servicing what exactly has been done.

You done anything on the "BRAKING" issues you are going the encounter.

What donor mitsubishi are those calipers from Dan. Did they fit straight on or did you have to make brackets.
What model were the disk made for.

Share the knowledge Dan, I'm sure there would be others out there interested in this conversion. Was there much in the way of custom work required. did you need to new hub carriers, brake lines, bolts etc?
