Nakaya Tune Special Edition FTO Differences??

Postby RichCrx » Tue Apr 18, 2006 5:51 pm

Hey,
I was reading up on fto's and i came across that there was a Special Edition Nakaya-Tune(1997 pre-facelift) Fto.I also read that there was only about 300 every made is this correct??I can imagine these would cost a mint due to them being rare.

What i really want to know is there many differences from this special edition one compared to the normal fto's??Did they have uprated brakes, suspension or what??

Sorry if this is a stupid question, afterall i'm a diehard crx owner through and through so i don't know to much about fto's but i like to read up on other cars and know a few things about them aswell.Tbh i wouldn't mind a nice fto or eclipse in future :)

Cheers,
Rich :P

Yes, there were only 300 Nakaya Tune FTOs manufactured in 1997, a rare model indeed. They had Ohlins dampers, a lip spoiler, AP brake pads, Xenon lights and a freer flowing exhaust system. Check out these links for more info:

I certainly never came across a NT FTO over the years and I would doubt that one was ever imported, one or two have turned up in the UK over the years IIRC.

I'd say many of the 300 have been written off by now unfortunately. The price of that car will be astonishing in future, who ever has one has a massive fortune  .I'd be terrified to bring a car like that for a short spin at all if i had one.It would be locked up in a shed with loads of security alarms :D

Cheers Again,
Rich

I totally agree Ron, cant see what all the fuss is about, if the engine was modded or highly tuned i could understand, give me a white facelift manual '99 GPX or GPvR anyday
