I've got one too, however the flare I have is slightly slimmer than the holder for some reason so I have a strip of velcro inside the holder to make sure it grips it.

However, I prefer using the holder as an LED torch holder and have confined the flare to the glove-box.

Maybe it's off a different car? Is your flare in a plastic tube? Mine is. Really makes the car feel more genuine my torch stays in the glove box.
