Calipers finally done!

Postby Dragonheart » Mon May 05, 2008 3:38 pm

So finally got around to doing these on Sunday. Bought myself some axle stands and got to work eventually. Hardest part was getting the car up onto the stands, seeing as shes lowered, the jack wouldnt raise it high enough to get the stands under the axles, so had to put a plank on a concrete block, each side, and drive the wheels onto the block, then remove the plank and put the jack up on that to give it the extra inch required, once I had her jacked, I removed the block and the axle stand fitted nicely in there. Just putting that info up there for anyone who comes across that problem in future cause its something I didnt even think of before I set about doing the work. Anyway, the painting itself was simple, I forgot to take before shots of the fronts, and while I was at the rears, said I'd clean the suspension springs too, didnt realise they were purple! Not that they'll be seen anyway. So here are the pics, completed fronts, and before and afters of the rears.

Good stuff, big improvement!

Have some black paint to do the back calipers myself to match the Wilwoods on the front... one of these days!

Huge improvement Martin - the calipers works really well on white ftos - really stands out.

next time I'm getting tires I'm totally getting a white marker as well :-)
