Lads, what do you think of this,
the mileage is high but it looks well taken care of, and those brembos....

Looks tidy enough, mind you they price is a little high for the milage, but about right for the year.
Lots to think about, nothing to worry about!

Thats a very tasty FTO - Manual Mivec - modified in all the right areas - will need a cambelt change asap but apart from that this looks (on the face of it) a very good buy. Don't worry about the mileage - FTO's can handle big miles if properly looked after.

Mines got big miles and she drives like a dream. I definitely wouldn't worry about it.

As Mffto says it looks good on the face of it. Check how much VRT would be (link from revenue.ie to a vrt calculator) to give you a better idea.

VRT on this works out €2807 !!! With a sterling price of £5500 which equates to €8120 ish, thats a total outlay of just shy of €11k. To this you gotta add ferry costs etc and don't forget the dredded NCT.
All in all a fair total estimate would be €11300 - €11,500.

If you check out this year 00' version R for sale here in Ireland, http://www.carzone.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carid=679452 for €12.5K which with persuasive bargaining you would most likely get down to below €12K. It only has 45,000 miles on the clock and will come NCT'd and all.

Going on above if you're going to shell out that kind of money, IMO i'd get the one available on your own doorstep, at least you have a point of contact if anything goes wrong.......

Hope this all helps :) :)
mmmm!! GPX........and its not all mine anymore....:-(

I've decided to go for it, I've managed to even off the asking price a bit
I agree with what you're saying about buying one here but I had my heart set on a black manual GPX and this one is being sold by an owners club member so I'd say it was looked after also it has some excellent mods, e.g. the Brembos...

I'm flying over on Saturday so fingers crossed it's as good in the flesh :smt047

Top class mate! Good to know that you've had proper dialogue with the seller before going looking - that's always an encouraging sign.

Looking forward to seeing her in the flesh!

Thanks lads.
If you take a look at the date I joined I think you'll agree it's about time
Still, better late than never.

We flew into Stansted on Saturday morning and got the ferry back from Holyhead that evening.
We lost our way a couple of times, if it was any other car we'd have missed the ferry, (thank you mivec  )
I have to say the car was as good in the flesh, I'm over the moon.
I'm looking forward to the September meet.

It's only now I realise just how bad the roads are here, I think I'm going to have to raise it :(
Oh and someone seems to have nicked all the road signs out of Dublin

Anyway.

I had a look on the UK owners site and came across this.
It seems my car has gotten around quiet a bit.

Nice pictures!

In my mind that simply means that the car was very well looked after during the duration of yer man owning the car..nobody wants to take a dodgy car on the track..well atleast not somebody who's serious about it..
