Red FTO update.

Postby Daz » Sat Jul 30, 2005 12:37 pm

Went to the body shop yesterday to drop of my halo spots for the facelift bumper (thanks to Stu"the freak" munch. The ones from the freakyparts website) Anywho.. i droped them off and said id get a peak at how my baby was coming along...  wow seeing an FTO with panels removed is something. good news is that most of it has been done. bad news is that there on holiday for the next two weeks so i'll be waiting for another 3 weeks before i get it back... can't wait thou.

I took the headlights with me as i want to remove the lense and fit inside the headlight unit some halo lights, can someone refresh my memory, Is it throw the headlight into a oven on gasmark 4 for about ten min to make sealent pliable :?:

Things not going to plan :smt091 :smt084 :smt021 headlight unit too big for the oven..and anyway i'm now homeless 4 more weeks and i'm in England  3 more weeks and i'm jobless :smt102 but about 2 more weeks and i have the red one back :smt040

Problem is i wanted to open up the unit so as to fit halo lights inside and get them to spray the inside while doing the car, but since i can't get the open  i guess it's not going to happen :smt022

As regards the spots in the bumper the lights i got from freaky parts come with halo's included as regards headlights on got halo's for the dips as they Won't fit in the main beam as there is nothing to hold them inplace . but i didn't manage to get the headlight units open anyway.

There was a fella in England who's gone down the road of altering the lamp unit and adding brackets and what not, so as to take indicator bulbs, Me i said screw that and just painted the bulbs with amber light paint and will wire to suit :D
