MIrrors Folding with central locking

Postby steelroe » Fri Dec 03, 2004 10:53 pm

Just gauging interest in this but some time back I wired my folding mirrors to the alarm and central locking. Used two relays and some wire.

I have now come accross a single minature relay that will do the same job. was thinking of making up a few kits for sale.

Kit would consist of the following.

Relay with all wires already soldered on and colour coded for ease of installation.
Full instructions including pictures describing all wiring step by step.
Possibly connectors for the wiring.

This kit would make it very easy to do a diy job. Looks class aswell whern you press the fob the mirrors fold in.

If anyone is interested let me know and I will get the ball rolling.
I am going to make a kit up next week to fit to my own as the original relas are a bit big.

Any Idea how much it would cost Steelroe, and would it be possible to have it switched so that you could switch that function on and off?

Firstly waiting on a bulk price for the relays.

With regard to switching it on/off, it can be done but will cost more. Not sure why you would need this function.
With the current set up, when the central locking/alarm is activated the mirrors fold in automatically.

The button in the car for folding the mirrors still functions as it did before.

Let me knoe why you would need to switch it on/off.

I just reckon that like any motor the mirror motors will wear out after x uses. I only fold up the mirrors during the week when I'm at work, in town etc, but rarely fold them in when I'm at home at the weekends as I'd be in and out of the car a lot on short trips to the local shops etc. (lazy, I know  ), and with two teenagers I taxi them all over the place at weekends....so that's it, but I would be intersted anyway......... if the price was right
Cheers
