Glass Antenna problem

Postby colm_mcm » Thu May 22, 2008 7:55 pm

My car had a Jap spec Pioneer Carrozzeria double DIN unit in it, I have since replaced with a Sony headunit, bought the Autoleads adaptor, and it plugged straight in and worked.

My problem is that I have no radio reception whatsoever. I'm now wondering if the Pioneer unit had an aerial amp in it. the aerial is built into the rear window

My last FTO had the same aerial setup, and I had no problem getting reception.

Any ideas. the hedunit is brand new, I might try another unit in it and see what happens.

Do you have a tinted rear window by any chance?

Is there a band expander in there that needs to be removed. Or remove the passanger rear plastic panel and make sure both wires of the aerial are connected
