Spoiler, cant decide!

I really didnt want to post this lads but i need a push off the fence... Still havent got the spoiler reattached but TBH the spoilerless look is really growing on me. Ive no pics to post but many of you know the spoiler im taking about. What do ye think? General feeling amoung my friends is split. I just cant decide... Does a white facelift FTO look too plain at the back without a spoiler? Any opinions welcome...

It is surprising how much that look does grow on you. When I got the car I was considering putting a spoiler back on it, but now there is no way I would. But mine does have skirts, and its the overall look thats important IMO, so think you may have to get some pis up.

Go without a spoiler. definately. Think of all the weight you'll be saving, part of the GPVR philosophy

I like the bareass look but think that side skirts and a front splitter are important to pull it off. Spend the money on side skirts as opposed to the rear spoiler.

I do not like the bare ass look. It doesn't suit the car at all. As far as I can see, pretty much the only cars that left the factory without spoilers were poverty spec GS's with steel rims and skinny tyres to round off the impoverished look. Get a spolier on there asap. Isn't it a GPvR you have? Didn't it come with a spolier? Besides that you might actually be able to see something in the rear view mirror, if you leave the spoiler off.

Poverty spec GR's didn't have the spoiler (or alloys) from the factory either.

I guess its all down to personal taste, I see some FTOs without spoilers and I like the look but by and large, I'm more of a spoiler fan.

Correct but you don't see very many of them. Most buyers would have specified the spoiler when buying new or upgraded to the sports pack (which includes spoiler).

I think the boot looks longer without a spoiler, but to be fair, a GPVR on standard wheels would look pretty basic without it.

Yeah it clips on but it needs a respray after getting knocked off. I also have to get a screw or 2 to put it back in 1 piece. @ mustang, it did have a spoiler but the Version R one was replaced with another one when i bought it. Kinda looks like this one below... the one in the bottom right corner. Its not exacetly the same but 'kinda' similar... closest alike i could find.

That's a topmix spoiler, have one myself, Great for obscuring the rear view.

I'd keep the spoiler chris, not many FTO's about with it and I think it suits the car.

spoilerless for me .it just looks wrong , against the lines off the fto ........i could do you a spoilerless bootlid , delocked for 100 plus postage . i have a spare there

Personally i love my GPvr spoiler wouldnt change it for he world.

Yup if the shipping costs are not crazy it might be worth it

+ maybe heading over surfing with the college could be a good excuse to get it done.

Personally if it was my car I'd prefer for the bootlid to be on the car so the paint would match the 1/4 panels.

Cheers colm for the advice, they do match it up after spraying don't they,

Make it duller or brighter so to speak dependent on wear.

I'm going to get a price locally for it also and if i get the correct information might go at it myself, the father has a sprayer down in Galway, i only have gone as fare as to do a boat so i'm not sure i would trust myself with this procedure, finishing it would be tough.

+ i think to get best results it would have to be baked?

Any time we do a bonnet or a bootlid, the areas around (wings or quarter panel) them also get painted. it'd be very hard to perfectly match paint to a 10 year old car in another country.

Well if FTO land is anywhere near Dublin and you can recommend them or any-other place it would be highly appreciated.
