Almost one less FTO on road this evening!
The missus and I were enjoying a meal at the local steak house, when the waiter approaches our table asks am I the owner of a silver Mitsi parked outside? He proceeds to inform me that an old dear has rammed the wall of the carpark next to my car! On inspection my car has escaped unscathed :D on the other hand her mazda's front bumper is imbeded in the rockery radiator folded up into engine bay coolant leakin all over the show. A foot to the left she would have been imbeded in the side of my mota  Her story was she was reachin for her crutches, car was still in drive (auto) she hit hte gas instead of brake an launched it into the rockery

Ah but they still let her drive I bet?
Even though you're not supposed to while technically temporarily disabled.
Lucky escape for you.

I think she was a full time cripple  have a pic on my camera phone, not great though, didn't want to be too blatant as they were still in the car waiting for recovery vehicle.

Elderly person spends most of their life driving a a manual. Gets to the point that they can no longer confortably/safely drive a manual, because of old age /disability. So they get an auto to make it easier for them. Problem is when you've spent 40 or 50 years driving a manual you are never going to be fully at ease/familiar with an auto (can't teach an old dog new tricks, etc). You hear about this type of accident the whole time.
Lucky escape indeed!
