Postby mick_dont_surf » Wed Sep 13, 2006 8:59 pm

i taking on board a serious amount of water. 3-5mm
its in the passenger footweel and behind the seat.
there is a constant drip from the passenger side
its also behind the driver seat
have tried the heating matrix it works fine and im not loosing any coolant from the rad.
it must be coming in from the outside
anybody any ideas were to check, or who to take it to.

Check the rubber seal around the door window.. When I get my car washed there's always one or two spots where the water runs in..

You may also want to pull away the carpet to see if you have any holes in your body work.. best to get em now before the wet season starts for real!

yes the side windows leak just a touch in the car wash
but this is something different, its like some one spilled a bottle of water every morning.
would the front window need checking,
someone also mentioned the drain from the front window area.

When you say a constant drip from the passenger side, is that in the footwell, or from the roof, or can you locate where the drip is?

Sounds suspiciously like a burst heather matrix, is water ingress a recent problem or has it always been the case? If its recent, check the heater matrix again. Other possibilities - perished windscreen seal, water collecting under the outside air vent and is somehow miraculously getting thru a grommet in the bulkhead and into the cabin. Wait until its dry, lock the passanger seat back and get in under the footwell, have someone use a hose on the outside of the car and see if you can spot water anywhere. get a torch in trhere while you're at it...
