Official Mitsubishi figures show that only 350 GP Version R's were produced as facelift 1997-1999 models.

Only 30 Version R's were produced during this period before production of this model stopped at the beginning of 1999 and only a handful were built with the 5 speed manual transmission. (Official figures obtained from Mitsubishi Japan)
.

The figures are on the web somewhere, I can't find 'em though. It sounds plausible considering that 3609 FTOs where produced between 97 and 99. Not sure I understand what he means by his second statement (ref. 30 FTOs).

The Version R Aero Series - Facelift model is the rarest & most sought after of all FTO models
.

Definetely, the facelift manual GPX is the most sought after model!

sounds like a sales pitch. I doubt my manual 99 vR facelift Aero spec is as rare as one of 30. sure there is a few on here and loads more on UK site.
This offical doc indicates 616 FTOs were produced in 1999. Doesn't give the breakdown of what type though.
Actually, going by that small number of 616, I suppose its possible there was only 30 GPvRs aero in 99, and only a few of those were manuals?
