new look for my engine bay(pic history)

Postby MY-JAP-MISTRESS » Sun Mar 09, 2008 4:55 pm

had her a year now and been trying a few things tho think im getting near the look im after now... soo close i can smell it 8) 8)

not long after i got the car added a greenair filter kit and tried painting the rocker cover bit passion red to match the car but always looked odd as the bay is different colour

Image

a lot of cleaning and polishing and sanding and i got her looking cleaner tho not a high finish

Image

started polishing another plenum i got from another member on the ftooc as its too awkward to do while its on the car and started changing the red that i didnt like

Image

Image

the finished result :D :D :D

Is there an advantage using samco hoses or is it purely cosmetic?

yes the advantage is they look better  plus they are more heat resistant and stronger than standard rubber.

Generally speaking, yokes are the yellow part of the egg. They can also be used to refer to an object or person i.e.

"The bleedin' state of that yoke" - might refer to an unsavoury looking person or object

"Yeh mad yoke" - a crazy individual

"What do you call that yoke again?" - whats the name for that object

Nice job on the engine bay btw ;)

No langer is a cork city thing. Not heard of in west cork.

Seb does that spray on the engine have to be heat resistant or will any spray do it?

red spray is heat resistent, white is not .

friend of mine sprayed his with non heat resistent paint and still holds after 1 year. i reckon any paint should do.

anyway the price difference between the spray cans it's not huge.

Hmm, maybe if I have some left over from my calipers and I get a bit trigger happy with the spray can I might have somewhere to use it up.
