Postby mcgon1979 » Wed Nov 14, 2007 9:30 am

Sometimes my clutch peddle sounds like a mouse on the way back up. very high pitched squeak. Can I just get down there and coat the thing in oil or what? god damn. squeak squeak squeak

More than likely it's not the pedal but the rubber housing around the gearbox (and inside) that causes the squeak, another common manual glitch, it's often atmospherics that will cause this noise. It comes and goes, I greased the area but it didn't really help. You'd want to get in a little deeper!

Nah, I know that sound. Mines been like that since I had the car. This high pitched squeak is deffo in the footwell not the engine bay. I'll soak my car in WD40 overnight and see how it goes.

Didn't we discuss this before McG? - I reckon it must be same problem - it almost sounds like its from inside the cabin but its not.
