If one was to wait until the 2 years was up without and 'forgot' to take the NCT, would one be exempt from backdating the NCT and start afresh?

The obvious answer is probably NO, but how can they backdate the NCT as they cannot tell if the car was legally roadworthy during those 2 years?

They will backdate it alright and you'll have to take another NCT soon after to get another 2 years up.

Yip - Mine flew through NCT in September - need to do it again this Jan - can't see how it will be any less roadworthy?
