Ferry Crossings

Postby Dave » Tue Jun 28, 2005 9:50 am

i've booked a a couple of weeks over in france and i;m planning on bringing my car!

for those of you who've brought lowered FTO's over on ferries, is it a problem getting on and off the ship, i talked to the booking crowd but they just said it shouldn't be a problem but just to make myself known to the port manager.

I've taken the FTO and a couple of other low splittered cars to the UK - Always tell them at the entrance when you check-in - they then point you in the direction of the relevant lane or handler - usually this means going on last onto the boat and first off when the boat is low in the water and theres less of a step-up on the ramp.

i was thinking that, but i should have a bozz speed on by then which will make it a little lower, i'll ring rosslare harbour and see if i can find out anything!

it'd be nice to get the fto over on the continent.

You won't have a problem Dave if you asked them to put you on the bottom deck,.... no ramps to negotiate...

Well - the biggest ramp to negotiate is generally the initial ramp to get on or off the boat. If the boat is low in the water (full) then its not a problem.
