Alternator is a likely cause, hopefully its nothing more complex.
colm_mcm wrote:As any gr owner will swear, mivec isn't that important anyway
Hopefully it'll get sorted anyway, plenty reasonably priced parts around anyway and you havent lived till you figure out how to get an fto alternator out!
Mitsubishi-Mental wrote:It could be your oil pressure as well, if its being tempremental check the sump pan underneath any kind of a dent can cause mivec to stop engaging, it did on the 4g92 Mivec engines anyway, not sure about the 6a12 engine though. i think its vital to have an oil pressure gauge on mivecs, driven them for years and 9 times out of ten its oil pressure related
easy fix bout 60 quid for a new pan, bolt off

This isnt the case on the 6a12. There's been a dent in my sump since i bought her and i've never had any mivec issues...
colm_mcm wrote:Not exactly well up on alternators, but as far as I know, there is a diode pack that goes on them. the alternator uses 2 sets of terminals, one set specifically for MIVEC.
To be honest i watched a video on youtube of a Gr beating a Gpx in a drag.. dissapointment!!
colm_mcm wrote:Er....
