Exhaust

Postby Muad_dib77 » Fri Nov 10, 2006 12:25 pm

Lads

My exhaust has been on the blink for a wee bit - yesterday there was a slight development - I now have a hole in it.. :-(

So I'm wanting to replace the lot - downpipes and all..

I want a Duplex backside - but I'm not entirely happy with the layout of the blueflame one on pipe going out the back is much longer than the other one - this leads me to believe that there'd be a lot more action in one side than in the other..

Is that something anybody could confirm/deny?

I'm not 100% certain but I think Mongoose do a duplex system as well - their website (through Riceuk) leaves me uncertain.

Also - which is better BF or Mong? I'd be happy to get a custom one - but I don't know of any places in the Dublin Area that'd do one up..do you know one??

I've been reading posts on the ftooc board and they generally seem to be of the opinion the BF is every bit as good as Mong.. Any comments?

I think I might need to spend a few bob on this... and Right before xmas as well.. :-( bah!

Oh further to this - would I benefit from getting extractors at the same time RPW do extractors & downpipe for 600usd + shipping...are they worth it?

no the blue car is a custom job done over in the uk, the quad is on the red car and it's the blueflame one... i don't think there's much in the difference in quality between mongoose and the blueflame.

MyFeckinFTO would testify how good it sounds with the mivec and de cat pipe!! i'd say with downpipes on top it would sound

Got a hole in mine at the moment, I've put on exhaust putty a few times but it keeps blowing through again after a few weeks.

I'm going to try to get the hole welded, its only a small hole (1 finger width) and would seem a shame to throw the whole lot away because of it.

Next thing is getting around to it!

just the standard exhaust... the hole is on the mid section just before the 90 degree bend to head over to the backbox. Kinda like it got a slap of a stone or something I think.

Muad,

This is not noticeable at all - and recent cold mornings have confirmed this for me - theres a good rate of flow from both sides - the Blueflame exhaust is a quality item and sounds 8)
