warning sound

does anyone know how to fix the warning sound when you leave the key in ignition or the lights on when the engine is turned off and the door is open. the inside lights on the mirror dont go on when the door opens but they do work. i hope its something simple.
p.s its not fuses, checked them already.

Might be the switch or the wires to the switch.
The switch is easy to disassemble and clean (all the bits inside). If that doesn't fix it, you'll need to trace the wires and check if any of them are cut or damaged.

That's the door switch, they can be prone to getting wet as well (ime) and losing the direct contact that they need to work - take it out and clean it up as a first step.

WD40 cleans switches.. I've used it with positive results in the past.. (am actually not sure if it's mentioned on the can..) use a little on the moving part and "work it in"..
worth a shot.

took the clip off the switch and it fell in behind and now i can't get it out. any clues???

The exact thing happened to me too. I'm planning to take out the back panel to try get to it and reconnect the wires. Seems like its the only way.

You could fish around with the hooked end of a coathanger or get yourself a clawed grabber (I think most motor factors sell them for a few quid) like this one - :
