FTO finally on the way!

Hey y'all,

FTO is finally on its way over, due to arrive in Dublin on 7th August.

In the states at the moment, there's an excellent looking Mitsubishi around, kinda looks like it might be an evolution of the FTO, Mitsubishi Eclipse. More modern look about it, pretty nice looking car!

When I was looking for an FTO, one of the garages had a 95 eclipse. I never thought they were out that early. It was a left hand drive so she was probably imported from the states. It was sold when I seen it, went for 4K. The older model had a front like the asti. Didn't look as nice.

VRT I was quoted back in Feb when I was ordering the car was about 1700, hopefully a bit less now... I heard figures of about 800 around too but didn't get quoted that at all myself when I called the VRO.

um, don't think so, the small 'gap' at the front of the bonnet is probably just more obvious with the way the light is catching it. Looking at the pics in the gallery all those have a little line at the front of the bonnet anyway.

Auction condition is 4, so shouldn't be damaged or anything...

Finally, when you get it, you should replace those rims - it looks like they are 14 or 15 at most.

GR, not including tax should be about 5300-ish, assuming VRT of about 1700. Not that much less at the time but car should be in pretty good nick and low mileage too. When I heard someone mention he got a GPX for 4900, thinking its prob not really good value now but was finding it hard to find a manual silver one at the time so...

Ya, they seem to be mismatched or something, not sure whats going on there. I fancy putting 16" or possibly bigger wheels on it, will be looking for your guys recommendations when it comes to it but won't be until sept prob.

Right hand corner of the back bumper is a sticker, looked dodgy to me at the time but supposed to be fine. Guess I'll only be 100% once it arrives.

Its a 95. Auction grade 4 so shouldn't be anything much wrong with it (knocking on wood!!!).

Didn't think it would take nearly this long, ordered it at the end of February, was supposed to ship 25th March originally, been waiting and waiting since. I think ordering it early in the year was a factor, when more new cars are bought and thus more new cars are shipped.

Where did you order the car from?

I got mine from Gandhara Motors in Japan and the pic's look similair to the ones I got (the warehouse behind the car).

I got a '95 GR Auto fully imported for 4700 and it's in pretty good condition. I just think it needs a good service cause it doesn't seem to be pulling right.

I ordered it on the 4th of april, it shipped on the 20th of April and arrived in Durban (South Africa) on the 25th of May. Before I got it, it had to be transported from durban to Botswana and I only got it on Monday last week. But thats just the incompetence of the people in Botswana cause they make you wait so long.

We can't bring in second hand cars into South Africa by law, because they would never sell another new car here again. The prices of new cars here are absolutely insane.
