Rear wiper & External Antenna

Postby baldtyres » Wed Oct 25, 2006 1:18 pm

Why does my FTO not have a rear windshield wiper, why do some have.
Why is my radio antenna integrated into the rear heating element, why do some some have external antennae???? is it the year of manufacture, model type or what. I can't find a common denominator. WHY WHY WHY?????? :smt017

It was an option on all models.

Ditto.

Its difficult to tie down factory options to specific models of FTO, sunroofs, power antennae, rear wipers, sideskirts, spoliers, power mirrors etc were spread right across the range in what would seem like no particular order. Mitsi certainly gave the buyer a lot of choice when it came to factory options.

ive no rear wiper on mine and an integrated ariel too, id rather the sleek look without the rear wiper, but have to say it comes in handy especially on days like this,
as for the ariel i think personally its a great idea, "stealthy and all that", lol.
some here seem to have an issue with radio reception on these integrated ariel, but ive to date, never had a problem, touch wood!
mine is a later model, im wondering was the latice on the earlier integrated ariel different or is it just pot luck that mine is good :?:

No FTO came out of the factory with tinted windows as standard.

I never got that option of the cup holder in the armrest console either :smt012 Starting to feel screwed by the Japs now.

The previous Japanese owner had really bad taste too, when I bought the motor it had this feckin godawful wood effect steering wheel with 3 chain effect spokes.......absolutely dreadful, I had the dealer change it for an ordinary one from a GR he had in stock.
Am I right in thinking that the GPx's came with a MOMO steering wheel as standard?

The factory tint is tres weak - the only way I can see mine is to open the door on a bright day (no many of those coming up from now till spring) and look through the glass.. You'll notice a hint of a color difference.

It is possible that the windows have been replaced...check for the lil mark in the lower corner towards the pillar..if it's there u ave org windows..I think.. ;-)

OK, I concede there might be a tiny hint of a tint...it is the original window, It just took me 6 years to realise. As Muad pointed out it's very weak.
Does that make me a boy racer now :?:

Too old to be a boy racer, probably too old to be driving an FTO!
Old enough to remember when a Capri Ghia was considered cool and old enough to remember I thought a Fiat X19 was the business!

Not too long ago a kid asked me if I was a boy racer while I was getting into my car, my brother coincidently was walking out the door of the shop near me and overheard the kid and pi55ed himself laughing. He always drove sensible cars :smt009
