Fto Seats

Postby eddmoore1 » Mon May 26, 2008 4:58 pm

Hey Guys,

Just new to the club.

Just bought a 96.

After a Fto for ages.

Only thing is the seats are kinda standard enough and I want to get nice seat covers.

Can't seem to get them for an FTO anywhere.

any Ideas

Hi and welcome to the forums edd.

RicerocketUK (on this forum) sells leatherette covers, take a look at the colour options on ebay:

Sound bud,

I was googling the other day for ages and couldn't find a thing. They seem sweet enough. Bit pricey but i'm sure i'll find a few pound for them somewhere

Welcome Ed.
I thought that before alright that they were a bit pricey, but I was lucky enough to get a car with them already fitted, and to be honest, its one of the things I like best about the car. Most of them seem to fit really tightly (I think they're from that ebay crowd) and look very well. Only advice would be to not get all black, from personal experience, they get a little hot in the summer (thank god for A/C).
However, if you'd like a set of black ones with FTO in red stitching, you can offer me a good price and I'll just upgrade!

Nice covers.

But aren't they a pain in the ass to fit?

As you say it seems to fit really tightly.. But will be much better than the crappy fabric..

Yes, fitting is time consuming but the result is worth it.

The leatherette covers are a huge improvement over the stock prefacelift fabric covers, the latter is one of least attractive elements of the FTO in my opinion.

I agree with CJ. Upgrading the seats is number one on my to-do list for the FTO. In fact I'll probably do it as soon as I get the car back (if ever).

I don't think there's any other single mod that improves the overall look of the car more profoundly. Apart from a new pair of shoes.

Have you got onto Ricerocket to for an update? As I understand it, they're made to order to the far east and can take some time to arrive.

I ordered mine almost 6 weeks ago, I think they were being made in Australia by one of the fella in FTO Aussie club, becuase I have attempted to order directly from him before and he pointed me to RiceRocket as the European distributor

Sorry for the thread hijack, can anyone recommend any decent upholster in Dublin where I can get them fitted when they finally arrive, I learnt that they were PITA to fit and wouldnt fancy doing it myself.

I'll do some when the car will run again :(

So Monday evening if everything's ok.

Miss, Buy more than 100 of the plastic things to tie them up.

Just bought 100 and I had to be carefull not to waste on the end, 20 more would have been perfect :p
