gearbox trouble

i have recently bought a 95 fto 1.8 gx auto tiptronic and iam having trouble with the gearbox,while driving the the gear box gets stuck in 3rd and the neutral light starts flashing.this dose not occur every time i drive but just occancially and i have to turn the car off to get rid of the problem, iam just enquiring would anyone know what is causing this. Firstly, welcome edreale!

This is a common issue that has been highlighted before, have a good search of the forums, in the mean time, check out these threads:

Its most likely either low on oil or a sensor needs to be replaced (not a difficult job).
