Whining noise

Postby fatboyfat7 » Sun Jul 20, 2008 5:47 pm

still not driving the car and its heading to rorys during the week. Took it around the park yesterday and while the gears seem to be ok now theres a whining sound coming from the engine. It only comes as I push the accelerator. Any ideas what this might be? Someone suggested a bearing but dont think they have a clue. Curious more for piece of mind cause i'm worried its something serious. Would be my luck...

Jesus, FB. hope it's nothing serious, who changed the gear oil for you? There's enough in it?

Believe it or not I changed it myself. There's plenty in there, too much if anything. I wonder though is it a gearbox problem or and engine problem seeing as its only there when i push the accelerator.

does it happen when the car is in P or N, or is it only when on the move?

I remember telling you the brakes were bad fatboy, does the whining stop if you drive the car and put it into N while rolling?

ill have to check that 2m but I'm almost certain its only there when im moving and hitting the accelerator. Dont think its the brakes though, seems to be coming from the engine bay...
