yep i was testing one for work last week. Very nice.. Few things i noticed though were a noisey disc drive, slooooooow startup and loading. Once your up and running though the games are very smooth and good fun.. perfect if your stuck on a plane all the time!!!

Eh they are release to my knowledge. We had one in from China via one of our staff members then have to buy another in as it has a browser on it which we need to test for a device database... it'll take me a week to do *said with Scotty accent.. feet up and play some games :)
The discs it takes are cool, proprietary to sony they look like a mini mini disc and can hold a fair bit of data.
aNyways enough nerdyness from me

After a bit of websurfing it seems to be coming out on the 1st september?

Also, the discs are mini mini disks, so you can't use the PS2 games you already have? :?

Nope - you can't use existing ps2 discs or normal minidiscs. The format is completely new :x

It seems to be a cracking machine though - albeit quite large for carrying i do phóca

Thats a shame, on that basis I can't see it doing fantastically well. Who could justify buying a new set of games for (essentially) a playstation 2 when xbox 360 and ps3 are around the corner!

Agreed - Already have an Xbox and PS2 - I'll be waiting to see who brings out the best next gen consol before spending my bucks. Its a bit of a racket when Sony can't keep the discs to the same format on its own machines - Will the PSP be compatable with the next PS3?
