Fast indicators

Postby Daz » Wed Oct 24, 2007 4:55 am

Lads

Since fitting my led indicators they have been flashing fast, now this is down to low resistance giving a false blown bulb signal now i could wire in 6 inline resistors but i think a easier way would be to fit one of these.

http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search. ... asher+unit

My question is where is my corrisponding unit (can't read jap) i'm guessing in one of the fuse boxes does anyone know which and which slot? (aiden how did you solve the issue when fitting your leds)

Cheers

Daz.

You need to get a load equaliser.

I haven't fitted mine yet, going to do it this weekend. I have variable resistors to fit too to reduce the brightness of the lights.

All of them front, side and rear also replaced all the rear bulbs (stop/brake and reverse) with led's but these aint an issue just the indicators just waiting for the blue ones i ordered for the foglamps in the bumper to be made Should be 2 weeks or so, presently just blue painted bulbs and also going to fit blue led's in the dash, and then fit my hids to the dips and full beams, yes whole car is presently going thru a modernization overhaul at the mo :D

I looked at something like these before, the only place i can see the indicator wires for both sides being close enough together for this set up is in the steering coloum or dash, and the heat generated from it is slightly putting me of this idea, hence why i wanted to replace the flasher unit, just that i don't know the location of the flasher unit is...... Anyone?

Is that doable?
I was thinking the same thing but I seem to remember someone saying there could be too much heat generated for the plastic lenses to take...

So lads can anyone answer this question, i've had a look thru some of the album's looking for a diagram of the fusebox layouts but haven't found it as yet, does anyone know where i might find it be it on here or another website?

Daz...

EDIT:
After more searching i found this discussion on fuses,

http://www.fto-ireland.com/forum/phpBB2 ... box+layout

But from the manual the fusebox layout doesn't list flasher unit :( so i'm still lost. BTW the web page link in this discussion no longer exsists.

I was looking at HIDs on ebay and found the following here:http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Vision-Performance-UK

»Less Maintenance. Xenon runs cooler than your traditional halogens, therefore it will not melt your housing. This product has been designed to offer higher levels of water and heat resistance

Any thoughts?

LED's don't work well for the speedo dials as they don't disperse the light enough, you end up with some numbers really bright and some not lit at all.
