Issue with brakes

Postby dcfto » Fri Mar 20, 2009 1:13 pm

Alright lads (and lassies)

Some fool in front of me had no brake lights and hit the brakes pretty hard, so in turn had to jam on pretty hard meself. wasnt close to hitting him or anything, was keepin a nice distance because of the fog.

But when i hit the brakes hard there was a loud bang from the front of the car, anyone have any ideas? Everything seems ok and the brakes are working grand and car is still running fine......

Oh yeah i didnt hit anything by the way, it was a good stretch of road...

Did it sound like a suspension knock? does the suspension make any noises going over bumps? have you inspected the brake calipers?

Check your front droplinks and anti roll bar bushes.
Also check engine bay - make sure battery etc is secure.

The suspension is fine but as far as i know the droplinks are due replacement at this stage so I presume its all connected. My exhaust is in a bad oul way as well. Fell off before christmas and got a gangster patch up job done on it!! ordering a new one from camskill at the weekend.

Due for a good service and inspection at this stage anyhow.

would anybody be able to drop me decent directions to paul nolans, i'm gonna give him a ring ina while.

I would be going to Dub either via ashbourne or the M1, whichever turns out to be the handiest....

Just checked that link and its almost right but paul is in the industrial estate the next left.

Yea STRAIGHT down N2

Turn LEFT onto M50 (northbound)

Go to END of M50

At roundabout take 3RD EXIT onto M1

Take NEXT EXIT (you will know its the right one if their is a yeild sign at the end of it)

Take the FIRST EXIT (left)

Then you will PASS a Centra shop on your left

Take the next LEFT into the INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

Head STRAIGHT

Turn LEFT Butlers chocolate sign

Take the next RIGHT into a smaller estate

Head STRAIGHT to end of road (the speed rams are killer so go slow)

Pauls Workshop is looking at you
I'd rather be hated for what I am,
than loved for what Im not.
