The button on the top comes off, trying sticking a blade or something not very thick in either side and prising it off, once thats off theres a white washer type screw thing, screw that off, then you need a socket and rachet to get the nut off under that. Once thats off the gearstick will just come off. Careful putting the nut back on that you dont cross thread it.
Another thing, keep checking that the gear lever will go into all the modes when you're putting it back together, if the screw is down too far the button cant be pressed down and you wont be able to select park or reverse. Its just a matter of finding the right spot. (The g-spot, for gear-spot....)
