Lads,

I'm looking at upgrading the Brake hoses to the metal type sold by camskill. Does anybody know is this a worthwhile mod. I recently put on green stuff pads, don't know weather to change discs for drilled and slotted type or just upgrade hoses(cheaper option). Which makes more sense.

Braided hoses are a good mod - the problem with the rubber hoses are that they tend to expand when under pressure leading to a sponginess feel to the brake pedal. Upgrading your braking fluid to Dot 5.1 would be an idea as well if you haven't done this already.

Not sure if you have a GR or GPX though (I think its a GR?)- the biggest change you could make to a GR would be to upgrade the calipers to the GPX's twin pots and slightly larger front disks.

I got mine for £75 plus carriage. Ignore the price on the site and contact them direct. Tell them a customer of theirs is selling the kit cheaper than them.

I upgraded my front brake calipers & discs/pads to GPX ones, and found they gave a better bite at higher speeds, but didn't make a lot of difference at lower speeds. Put in Dot 5.1 at the same time. I've since put on the steel braided hoses (think I got mine from ricerocket) and they certainly helped, brakes had a better feel and there was a better bite again.

Its one of the easier mods to do, just a pain in the .... to have to go around the car bleeding the brakes after, but thats not difficult either.
