finally an fto owner again

Postby michaelbirrane » Sat May 13, 2006 2:28 pm

Good news i purchased a GPX Mivec fto in Liverpool yesterday.
Took it over to Dublin in the ferry and its gleaming in the sun today.
Its a silver GPX MIVEC MANUAL model and it drives great some flaws in the paintwork in small areas dut i can sort that out.
Its got a traction control button which the others didnt have and a nice set of 17 inch wheels.
50,600 kms or so and very clean. :D 8)

Welcome back to the FTO club - how did it work out buying the car in the UK towards buying an "'Irish car"?

The task of purchasing the car in the UK was so far painless.
We have organised our insurance from Quinn Direct 1,200 without a no claims bonus from me or my wife.
The car will be keeping its uk reg as we will not be staying in Ireland and will be in and out of the country regularly.
you guys will have to let me know how to post pics.
The price for a 97 manual mivec in the UK was alot cheaper and easy to find as i was sure of what i wanted.

Was there any FTO owners left in the country this week?

Pics of FTO

Postby michaelbirrane » Wed Jun 14, 2006 6:50 am

Here is the pic of the FTO we purchased it is totally standard right down to the airbox.
The wheels are 17 inch, can anyone tell me if traction control is standard on FTO Mivec GPX?
Great power and boy does it feel great to be back behind the wheel of a FTO.

Nice looking GPX Michael!

TCL isn't standard on the GPX pre 97, not sure about facelift models, but I don't believe it was standard spec.

Looking good!

17s aren't standard either but I'm guessing Michael means not modded.

I've recently replaced my wing indicators, and its a huge improvement on the orange ones. Gave the car a quick wash last night and its really looking sweet now! :D

I've got a 98 manual GPX, it's got a few options on it but no TCL so I'm guessing that it's not standard.
