It connects via the ECU's ODB port using a standard cable - it reads everything bar bhp (& torque I guess) from the ECU so should be accurate. The bhp is calculated from the mass air flow using the formula "<mass air flow>g/s * 0.8" - I think this is reasonable accurate as they tested it against some rolling road readings - not absolute by any means though.
I had 257 on the LiquidTT the other day which is pretty close to what I'd expect from a generic map.
