Don't forget how you love your FTO

Postby adrian » Tue Feb 03, 2004 10:11 am

I possibly did for a short while but.....I just re-discovered why I'm in love with the FTO. Had to go to Monaghan (from Dublin) in a bit of a rush last night and back again...4 hours driving. Wow. Windy roads for good part of the journey and I loved it. You forget how good handling the car is when you don't drive like that alot! That mixed witth the looks you get going through every town!

IF the new car happens this week I will sincerely miss the FTO, I even considered keeping it last night as it felt worth more to me then I'd get for it....but I've calmed down a dit since then!!

Agreed. I've been driving a Focus for the past 2 weeks and I'm scared to go over 50 in the thing, the handling is just terrible. Its only when you've been without the FTO for a time do you realise how much of a great car it is. Its easy to let its small annoyances dominate your impression of the car, because the FTO looks so fresh, you forget that you're driving a 9 (or in my case 10) year old motor.

Just got back from Norway and collected my car (it was only finally finshed on Friday) and all I can say is amazing! I spent the past 4 weeks in a combination of Volvo 850 2.5TDI, VW Polo 1.0lt and Opel Zafira 1.6lt (while driving around Norway) and now the FTO feels like a million dollars - handling is out of this world!

Boy do I know what it's like to miss driving my FTO. I had some so and so's kick my doors in one nite while it was parked in town. It's taken two months to get it back. I've had it back for two weeks now and I'm planning a long trip away in it in two weeks time. Wish it was tonight.
